I was wondering what you are learning in your classroom? We try to compare other classrooms around the world and what is being taught. We have been surprised that although things are different many things are the same. Also what is lyceum? I see it in several post.
We are out for summer holidays but I told the students I would keep checking on blog friends over the summer.

Dear friends,

Lyceum is a sort of school where Maths, Phisics, Biology and Chemistry are the main subjects, but we study others as well.
In primary school we study Maths(subtraction, multiplication, addition, divisioin), Reading, Russian, English, PE, Music, Art,Geography and Handicraft.

We are on a holiday now till September 1. When are you back to school?

Regards,
Mrs Golubeva

As for the teachers - we are back to school on August 5 in order to prepare our classrooms and lessons'plans, but it isn't a must to work every day.

The 1 grade students study since 8 am to 12 am, others(2-4 grades)- since 1 pm to 5.30 pm - because in our school all students (grades 1- 11) study in one building and we don't have enough classrooms.
We study English in special classrooms in groups of 13-14 students(it is the half of a class). We also have special classrooms for Biology, Chemistry, Phisics, History, IT, Maths - for grades 5-11.
Each students in grades 10-11 have their own time table (it depends on the set of subjects they choose - they have 31 hours a week).

Teachers have 28-34 hours per week, it means I have 6 lessons every day or more because my time table depends on the students' one.
In order to have a good salary I have to take part in different meetings and conferences, write articles, prepare students for olympiads, conferences and exams and so on.
Next year I will teach students of 2,3, 4, 10, 11 grades.
Most of all I like to work with young learners because they are so active, motivated in learning English and like taking part in different projects.
