Congratulations Dasha! Homonyms can be tricky to work out, even for children who only speak English. I'm impressed that you're so good at them and did so well at the conference.

bye/buy/by!

Dear (deer) Dasha,

Congratulations on your (you're) win! Mrs. N. is correct, homonyms are not (knot) easy to (two/too) learn. They can be (bee) very tricky if you (ewe) don't know which (witch) is the right (write) word.

Wonderful work, Dasha!

What was the competition like?

Dear Mrs. Yollis,

What a great comment! It is just to check my knowledge of homonyms :=) Thank you very much!

As for the competition - we had to present our research works in front of the jury which consisted of 5 teachers from different schools. There were 13 students and I had to present my work the 13th! In our country 13 is an unlucky number!

Thanks again for your comment,
Dasha

Dear The Smarties,

Thank you very much for your comment! It is difficult sometimes for us to cope with homonyms in English, that's why I tried to make a dictionary and a presentation with homonyms in order to help us with translation.
By the way, I should include" bye/buy/by" in my dictionary too/or two? :=)

Hi Lyudmila!
Congratulations to Dasha! As a student currently learning a foreign language (French) I realize how homonyms must be difficult when learning English.
