Hello friends,
I really enjoyed talking to you yesterday through Skype. Your school is much larger than ours and it is in the city. It will be great to have friends in a school, city and country that is rather different to ours. I hope we can learn lots from each other. Maybe we could teach you a song from New Zealand. First we will teach you about kiwis! The kiwi is ready to start his journey over to you. I hope he flies quickly and arrives soon.
Best wishes,
Miss Knight (Livewires)

Dear Miss Knight and The Livewires,

Thank you very much for Skyping! It was a great experience for us. Everybody in our school was impressed by this event ! And we were the main heroes! Students began looking at the map and asking questions about New Zealand. Our principal even promised to install a smart board in our classroom :=)(Although I am not sure she will keep her promise).
As for me, it seemed that I forgot my English at all - so excited I was!!! I wonder how Carolyn managed to understand me? :=)

Regards,
Lyudmila and class

Dear Lyudmila and friends,

What fantastic singing! When I was young in school we learned this song also, so you brought back good memories for me.

I teach third grade in Connecticut, USA. We also have a class blog. Give us a visit if you get a chance.

From, Mr. Salsich

Great video! I love that song and your class seemed to be enjoying it a lot. Our teacher heard kookaburras outside her house this morning. They woke her up!

What a wonderful video - I am sure that there are many teachers and students in Australia that are very impressed by your students voices and enthusiam! You asked us about the school worms - they eat the left over food from our school lunches (that the students bring to school for lunch) and then we use the worms fertilizer to feed our school gardens! It cuts down on waste and helps the environment!

We like your Mihi video and especially Waiata (song). Well done!!!
Thank you for answering our question about school worms - it makes us think what useful could we do to make our environment cleaner?!
